The Man With The Pen

Friends are the people who light the lamps of happiness, We is the word that brings them to our consciousness, They remind us that there is no word called loneliness, The light that they ignite in our soul makes short work of sadness, So that our heart remains immune to hopelessness. Its difficult for people however different to be friendless, Our friends give us support in times one considers as hopeless, So that when we are restless we remember their support in distress, Their jokes and mischief lifts our spirits in times of stress, Their advice and similarity of opinion give us hope, In times when the only thing to do is cry and mope, Their cheerful faces and the fun moments spent with them  They are always there for us when situations become difficult to cope, In these situations their very presence is a strongest rope,  Fighting or not talking to them does not reduce their affection, However badly hurt they might feel by our word...

Oh how I wish my childhood and adolescence existed longer, When happiness, wonder and idealism alternated with despair and anger, When the mind was free of ambition and hunger, When innocence and maturity used to linger, When the best food was cooked by mother, When affection, admiration, irritation was there in the eyes of brother/sister,  When advice and criticism was heaped on us by father, Those were the days when winter and summer were fonder, Where did the excitement and surprise for a new experience disappear, Who was it before in whom faith was put in times of gloom to appear, When was the last time small situations created panic or fear, When each friend was colourful and so very near and dear, Oh! how I wish to pause and remember those moments with wonder, Oh! how long has it been since one felt younger, Oh! where is that wonderful smile free of greed and hunger, Oh! how much will I miss the days devoid of worry and despair, And so with a heavy ...

That moment when I opened my eyes on television, There was your vision, So well you made me feel,  It was riding on one wheel, Never have I seen such a fascination in people's eyes, You make the goalkeeper stand open mouthed as the ball flies, Then as it hits the net he cries, And the defenders are rooted to the pitch in surprise, As you fly past with rockets attached, When asked how you do it your reply as if detached,  Your talents are so unmatched, You will leave this game and remain unsurpassed.

  Not so long ago, one little boy walked with his mother to search for water in the forest. They had already been walking for an hour in the burning afternoon sun. It was the month of June in India, the peak of the hot and dry summer, people are in desperate wait of the first drop of rain. Hoping drought goes away, but, sometimes, it does not, making every day a fight between life and death. One has to hunt for cattle fodder, food and water.    The little boy asked his mother, "how long do I have to walk ?" The boy was exhausted and the searing heat was sapping whatever energy he had left inside himself, yet, he plodded on, trying hard to curb his thirst, so that if they found enough water to suffice for the day he could easily get rid of it. Finally, they found a well with enough water. Slowly, his mother pulled the water up the pulley in the bucket and emptied it into the pot which she then put on her head to carry water back home where her husband was waiting...

  Mountains stand tall, towering over the whole world, Making life difficult for those who live among you, Testing our strength with cold winds and blinding snow, Making us think of going around, over or through your challenges, You ask creatures to change to live or bitter cold winds are on the way, But at the same time, you provide life giving water to all creatures, You help keep enemies away, ask the wet winds to empty themselves, So that those far away also have enough water for themselves, We have to make roads that wind upwards around you, While at some other places, we cut tunnels through you to let us go, Just about a century ago we invented airplanes to go across seas, Slowly we started to fly them over you but landing them is difficult, Leaving this you also show us breathtaking scenery, Your lofty heights are covered in permanent white snow, But the lower reaches provides a stunning contrast, You stand tall, we have to crane our nec...

Not so long ago, I saw you for a fleeting moment, But your heavenly beauty etched it in my heart permanently, There you are showing off your gleaming and unruly self, Ready to cut through winding roads at wild speeds, one imagines, With a roar of your engine echoing through valleys , Powering away like a herd of horses blowing up puffs of dust, Those who drive you are mere mortals giving you direction, You are a force of nature much like the prancing horse on your chest, A great driver lives and dies by your side if he makes a mistake, If he lets you slip at maddening speeds on a wet road, Teaching us the art of restraint at a huge price, Those who own and drive you are lucky beyond measure, Enchanting many but bullying many into looking stupid in front of you, You take us on a ride eternal through valleys and mountains, To new heights where many deny to have reached, Your voice goes through my ears, getting my heart racing, Sending me to a different world where you are mine,...

A martyr is a person who selflessly sacrifices his life, A soldier, a man who fights for justice of for equality, Those who die giving this selfish world a mirror, Of how to sacrifice can be given selflessly, I am grateful for being born an Indian, Because this is a land where bravery is everywhere, But sadly, now my country is home to people who call crime bravery,  To people who call themselves corruption kings, Where people are ready to kill for small matters, Where the value of life given is as good as zero, Where men who exploit the weak are roaming free, Where women fear for their dignity every night, There was a time when the people were honest, They were able to go to new heights to serve the country and the people, A time when the poorest was willing to fight till death, Just so that the future generation could live in freedom, They went their merry way just so that people would not suffer The exploiting foreign ruler's racist an...

Leading yourself towards your goal is easy, Leading two or more people not so, You need to become an ideal person to lead others, People like to work with those who lead from the front, Not those who throw their weight around and are lazy, These kind of people can never become leaders, Be good, honest, humble and caring to those work under you, Never back out from helping those who face difficulties,  Help, support and an amicable relationship creates leaders, An aggressive demeanour can destroy and eliminate leaders, A new approach to superior-subordinate relationship, Open minded and easy demeanour to suggestions, Leaders are those who never back down facing a challenge,  But, continue fighting till they win, They prevail over extremely challenging conditions, They light up an inspiring story in a dark world, They give hope to millions by urging them to dream, Yet they are always down to earth, Never boasting of themselves, Instead saying...

Waking up every morning, There is a sight to behold, Seeing my tiny twin brothers rubbing eyes,  In an effort to rub away the night's sleep, Who does not want someone younger to lead? Who does not want to see the laughter of a child? Luckier is the person who has two kid brothers, To play with, to teach them the right way of life, The world turns into a beautiful dream, When two kids take up the job of spreading joy,  With broad smiles and comical acts,  Exploring the world with tiny eyes, Marvelling at moving objects, Staring at still things, Though they are themselves in motion, Restless, careless, yet full of happiness, Showing the world how important, Every moment thoroughly enjoyed is to happy life, Though a tiny child may seem oblivious to emotion, They are good at finding, The difference between happiness and sadness,  Which eats people inside out like a termite, Needs to be eliminated...
