Heartstopping Thriller


Running up the pitch lightning quick,
The midfield in action thick,
The defence look to avert the attack with a wall,
The defence just couldn't grab the ball,

In the tussle between defence and offence,
One of the defenders did the ultimate offence,
One of the midfielders lay on the ground,
Out came the referee with a yellow card,

The referee signals a free kick,
That gives the crowd a rousing kick,
Under pressure with the home crowd going,
Out came a strong shot leaving the net smoking,
And the crowd’s response is absolutely rousing,

The game goes level with ten minutes to go,
The teams continue trading blow for blow,
The game enters extra time,
The excitement all over the ground is sublime,

The teams give it their best,
Yet, the result isn’t put to rest,
The game goes right down to wire,
The penalties make the situation very dire,

The teams ask their best to step up,
The teams just a step away from the cup,
And as soon as the striker lines up,
My crazy football dream time is up.

Black clouds close out the sun’s hot rays, The hot Earth waits for the cool water, It looks as if the sky sheds tears for the Earth, The time nears for Earth’s rebirth. MY AMBITION

Ever since, I reached grade five, my language kept improving, and, by the time I passed out from grade ten, it had become good enough to make my ambition of becoming a writer of stories. I had always had that ability to channel my ideas easily into words.    I was always trying to express myself through words. When I was about 2 and a half, I got this problem of repeating words thrice, slowly this problem receded, but, I remained a shy speaker in my class till I reached grade ten. In the farewell, I took the emotional approach of saying goodbye to my friends by making a speech, laced with a thank you to some bullies who had made my life miserable, but, also contributed to my becoming a rock of calmness amidst all I suffered in words. I kept myself cool and showed these bullies the door out of my mind. The bullies used to strike me down by telling me about my physical frailties. A Story From My Life

My family has done a lot of work in the field of education under the guidance of my late grandfather. Some 30 years ago, he designed the plan of a school to be built in our native town. That building used to conduct classes for boys till 10th. Now it conducts classes only upto 8th. In January 2012, after my grandfather’s demise, the school authorities called on us. They wished to conduct classes till 12th in the same compound. In February 2012, the work started and the new building was inaugurated on 31st March 2013. In the inauguration ceremony, I made a speech invoking the memory of my grandfather. The school was named in memory of my grandfather. By the month of May all the classes were operational. In the construction of this building, my father gave a lot of time and energy, but, a sterner test was yet to come.
